Hi. My name is Sylvester. I came to Simply Cats because my previous companion had to move and they were unable to bring me with them. I was really sad in the beginning, but now I have made friends with some of my feline roommates, and life is good again. Don’t get me wrong though, I would still love to find a home and a friendly companion to share that home with. I’m still very young with a lot of life ahead of me. Who knows, maybe you’ll be in it!

Hi, I'm Tippy, and I am one sweet kitty. I'm a bit wary of strangers in the beginning, but given some time, I get along with (gentle) dogs and humans as well. It may take some time to earn my trust, but it will be well worth it! Maybe I will even let you hear my adorable "peep" sound!

I used to be the queen of the house, and had no problem keeping everyone in line. I am very social and loves to be pet by anyone, just don't pick me up because I am not fond of being carried or hugged. I love my food, and enjoy treats and catnip! I have been an indoor cat all my life, but I enjoy soaking in the sun. Even though I am a bit feisty, I am lovable at the same time, and will even play fetch with a cord or length of string.

Hi, I’m Lyon. I was found in a garage here in Boise. My stay at Simply Cats wasn’t long in the beginning. I was adopted by a nice woman, but I could never quite warm up to her. In fact, I’ve always been a little shy around people, especially young children—not cats or dogs though, I love them both. I just hope that one day a nice, patient person will find me, and we can live a happy life together.

Sala came to us after traveling from Salt Lake City with her two sisters, having been tucked up in the undercarriage of a semi by their mom. Just three weeks old when she arrived, we soon discovered that she had an injury much like Brandi's, and we made her one of our very own. Now a year and a half, she has grown into a beautiful, petite girl with eyes that rival the finest emeralds, and we are forever thankful because everyday we get to see the embodiment of love we call Sala.

Spike is one of the biggest lovers to ever come through the doors, so why is he a permanent resident? Because he won't use his litter box on a regular basis. Recently diagnosed with diabetes, he doesn't let that get him down either. Still the happy-go-lucky tabby he's always been, we're fortunate to be able to experience his joy of life everyday.

Suda: Female

Suda came to us with a litter of kittens. Described as playful and mellow, she was actually feral. So since we are unable to handle ferals, she was to be placed on a farm once the kittens were weaned and she was spayed. But Suda had other plans. She decided to stay, and stay she has. She has learned to trust us, live with us, and we know she loves us. We are still working on the touching part, however. But hope springs eternal, and we know we're going to get there with her, too.

JD became a permanent resident with Simply Cats because he was having some issues with inappropriate elimination. We figured that it was due to the anxiety of leaving the shelter after living here for so long. Since he has been back with us, his attitude has improved, and he has not had any issues with inappropriate elimination. The marked improvement made us feel like JD should have a permanent home here so he can live out the rest of his life, anxiety free.

Brenda came to us when her mother was trapped outside of a supply building here in Boise. Having a feral cat for a mother made it a little hard for Brenda to adjust to people during her stay at the shelter. Since her early days as a kitten, Brenda has been timid around humans. Brenda had been adopted two times, but she wasn’t quite able to adjust to her new surroundings. When she came back to us the last time, we decided that she was comfortable with her life here, and Simply Cats would be her forever home.

I'm Snickers, a mature calico of seven. As long as I have a warm bed and a nice post to scratch, I'm pretty content to keep my own company. I don't mind other cats; I'm just more of a loner when it comes to other felines being around. My dream will come true when I get to share my life with a person of my very own.

I'm going to tell you something that shelter cats generally don't admit about themselves: I can be grumpy sometimes. There, I've said it. Wow, what a relief to have that off my chest. My grumpiness comes from being around other cats. So at first my goal was to figure out how to not have other cats in this shelter. That, of course, went nowhere. Then it hit me: concentrate on finding myself a home without other cats. Sometimes I can be such a genius.

Hi. My name is Muffin. I came to the shelter with my sister Grey Girl. Recently, my sister was diagnosed with Diabetes, and now we can't share a room. Since she came down with the illness, she has had to eat a particular kind of food that is healthy for cats like her. I miss my seeing my sister everyday, but I feel like I'm ready to find a new companion to spend the rest of my days with.

My name is Josh. I’m 11 years old—that’s right, 11. But that doesn’t mean that I have run out of love to give, in fact, just the opposite. I get so excited when people visit me here at the shelter that I jump right out of bed, to the floor, where I can rub my tail and belly against their legs. My previous companions thought it would be best to have my claws removed, so I’m not one of those felines that can scratch something that may be important to you. I hope to make your acquaintance sometime in the near future.

It's ok though, because the great people here at Simply Cats have taken on the responsibility of giving me my medication and taking care of me everyday. With the help of these great people, I can happily live out the rest of my days.

I'm Fradee, and I got my name because when I came in, I was scared. But I've overcome the fear of a new place and am ready to have that special someone come take me home. I'm also FIV positive, but that shouldn't make you a "fradee cat" because it's not scary at all. Stop by and I'll tell you why.

Hi, I’m Stubby. They call me stubby because my tail is cropped instead of long like most cats. I’m eleven years old, and I was surrendered by my previous companion because she had a new baby and the baby was allergic to me. I was really sad to leave my old home, and I’m still a little wary of this new place I’m in. I like people, though, and often come trotting up when someone comes into my room. Hopefully, one day I will find enough trust to love someone again. Who knows, maybe that someone will be you.

Hi, I'm Maquesta. I was adopted from Simply Cats in 1999, and after 8 years, I'm back again. My former companion decided to take more cats than she could afford, so I guess I got to be the odd one out.

I was very sad when I first came to the shelter, but I'm beginning to open up to the lovely people who work here and the kitties who live here. Who know's, maybe someday I will be lucky enough to find another forever companion.

Just look at this face. I know there's someone out there who just can't resist it. I came into the shelter because my past owners said I had asthma. Since I've been here, I haven't shown any signs of having asthma. I am just the friendliest cat around. If you sit on the floor, I will take up your entire lap and love every minute of it.

So if you're looking for a huge (literally!) love, I'm the kitty for you.

Hi, my name is Chuck. My previous companion decided that he didn’t want to take care of me anymore, so he put me outside of my old house, and stopped feeding me. Luckily, one of my friendly neighbors found me and brought me to Simply Cats. Maybe now I can find a responsible companion who will take care of me to the best of their ability! I just hope they don’t have dogs.

Hi, I'm Gideon. I was brought into Simply Cats from a local veterinarian's office. I have nerve damage in my hind end because I was hit by a car when I was younger. Also, I tested positive for FIV. But that doesn't mean I can't have a happy life as a permanent resident here at Simply Cats. I love having my tummy gently scratched, and I'm a cheerful guy in spite of everything. I hope that if you come visit the shelter, you say "hi" to me.

Hello, my name is Ibanez. I was a stray kitten living outside with my mom and two other siblings. Luckily, a nice lady found us and let us live in her garage until there was space at Simply Cats. My difficult life experiences have made me a bit shy, and kind of scared around people, I am still very friendly, and I love attention and affection. Maybe one day I will find someone who is considerate of my situation and will take the necessary time that it will take for me to come out of my shell.

Hi, I'm Ollie. I was surrendered by my owner because I started to spray in their house and they could not get me to stop. It was probably because I didn't get along with any of the other cats in the household. Or it could have been an issue because i had been declawed. I haven't had a problem since I've been at Simply Cats though. Even though I don't get along very well with the other cats in my room, I haven't sprayed yet. Hopefully one of these days, someone will give me a second chance in life. Who know's, maybe that someone will be you.

Hello, my name is Polly. I was brought back to Simply Cats after sharing a home with my companion for 7 years. Since my former companion’s grandson was very allergic to me, she felt like she had no other option than to bring me back to the shelter. I’ve readjusted to the shelter life well though. But I still hope that one day I can find a companion whom I can share the rest of my days with.
