Doing Her Little Turn on the Catwalk
There once was a cat named Muffin,
Who after much huffin’ and puffin’
Is slim svelte and fit
And all must admit
Once adopted she’d flourish like nothin’.
Muffin and her sister, Grey Girl, have been on a kitty weight watchers program as part of their New Years resolution. Grey Girl still has a little while to go, but she's making good progress.
Muffin has finally hit her goal weight. Way to go! At a shapely 10 pounds, she has finally graduated from the program and will be rejoining her friends in room #2. Of course, she'll have some work ahead of her to maintain her new size. Wish her luck with her new goals.
Too bad I can't hang out in the kitty weight watchers room and follow their program myself.
Stuck in a Trash Can
New kitten brought in today by someone who found her in a trash can. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time people have brought in kittent thrown away in the garbage - last December we had a whole litter found in a dumpster. This little girl is all alone though. We're guessing she's not quite two weeks old, and luckily for her, we have a foster family with another kitten her age that agreed to take her in. Maggie is in great shape, and is a good little eater. So far her favorite thing is snuggling by a heating pad underneath her pink stuffed lion-mom.
6 kittens
We have six little kittens in iso right now, and they are so cute! I listened to them slurp their food today, and when I was giving them their antibiotics, they had food all over their faces. One of them even dropped food out of his mouth to look at me. I love little piggie kittens.
Easter Kiddos
Sometimes you get the bull, sometimes the bull gets you. We lost one of the tiny kittens that were surrendered to us with frost bite, Fava, as noted in earlier comments on this blog. Fava was the sickest of the three kittens. In spite of excellent foster and medical care, it just wasn't to be. We miss you, little guy. I hope you're having fun on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, playing with butterflies.
The other two kiddos, who have been named Lima Bean and Pinto Bean, are doing very well. It was touch and go for a bit there, with Lima, who developed an infection from the frost bite. His second foster pulled him through the hardest of it, though. Now he's a vigorous little guy, with the cutest face!
Both of the brothers are growing like weeds ,or should that be "like bean plants"? They are easily three times bigger than when I fostered them.
We have the very best fosters. Thank you for all the love and care you give our little ones. We couldn't do it without you.
